I'm a Literary Critic and an Early Career Researcher in the Arts and Humanities, with a PhD in Literary and Cultural Studies (Deakin University 2017). I currently work in the School of Education at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia.
I'm an active researcher and academic writer at the intersection of Literary and Cultural Studies and Gender and Sexuality Studies. My research specialisations include 1) transgender and queer literary and cultural representation and 2) children's and young adult literature and culture, including the politics of textual production and circulation (including censorship) for young people.
I've published peer-reviewed research in Journal of Gender Studies, Outskirts: Feminisms Along the Edge, and Writing from Below. I recently published my first academic book titled Youth Fiction and Trans Representation (2023) in Routledge's Children's Literature and Culture Series.
